After that, we came home and had the kids nap, and then we headed up to my brother's house. We invited Karen, Shannon and their families, and it was so much fun. We ate great food, listened to great music, and had a nice visit with people we knew, and people we didn't. It was awesome.
Sitting out in the dark, with Maddy on my lap for the first bit, and Hudson on my lap for the second, I felt so extremely lucky to be where I was. Watching the kids play with sparklers, watching the adults light the MAJOR fireworks, it was so fun. I was reminded of why I love this holiday so very much.
