The day before the show, I thought I should probably look the location up online to make sure I could get there. Then I got to thinking... It wasn't a movie theater, it was like, well, you know, a theater theater. *sigh* I was like, How on earth is Maddy going to sit through a PLAY??? Luckily I'm friends with smart people that wouldn't encourage me to take my 3 year old to a real-live, fancy-schmancy, production of a play. ;)
We got there and happened to end up on the front row. What luck! Turns out, this little theater is home to mini-actors / actresses - they were kids! I thought I was going to be really bored (and I was a little), but Maddy LOVED it. It actually wasn't Little Mermaid as in Ariel, but a story similar of A Little Mermaid. Maddy kept asking where Flounder was, where Ursula, was... kinda confusing, right?
When it was over, we walked out and the sweet gal who played the Little Mermaid was standing there posing for pictures with all the kids. I snapped this of the two of them -
and Maddy was in heaven the whole day. She kept asking, "When is Ariel going to come to my house?" and "Where's Ariel?"
Afterwards, since Stacie was watching Hudson for me and he had just fallen asleep, I asked Maddy if she wanted to go out to lunch with me. We went to Razzoo's and it was really nice to have it be just her and me. She is a fabulous lunch date, let me tell you. Good conversation, she shares her food, and she also provides endless entertainment.

So adorable. Love her squishy cheek on your face in one of the bottom-ish pics.
Oh how fun!! And you totally lucked out to get front row seats :) Maddy is one lucky gal to have such an AWESOME mom.

What a fun date for the two of you!!!
I love going on one-on-one dates with my girls, it's so fun!
Maddy is such a cutie.
And your blog header is super cute, btw.
What a fun date! It's nice that you are able to do things like that with her, she will appreciate it so much growing up!
I would still go to that show on the big screen, even without my kids.
My hubby once surprised me with SF Ballet tickets to see 'The Little Mermaid.' We had to be very careful not to mention it to my daughter because it was not a show for kids. But I have taken my daughter to a child friendly theater that was playing 'Cinderella' and they are fantastic. I plan on doing that again soon. Mommy/daughter dates rock!
lol...I am taking my sons to The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn on Monday...they hadn't even seen the movie until just recently. I hope it turns out well. Glad you had a great Mommy/daughter date! Those are fun!
That is so fun. Oh! I want a mommy/ daughter date. Maddy is so dang cute.
