Last month we were watching General Conference and she was on a roll with her comedy routine. She kept calling it "Jennifer Constance" and when President Monson got up to speak, she looked at him and calmly said, "He's old." When the choir was singing, she said, "Ooooh, look at the pretty princesses!!! Their dresses are so adorable!!!" :)
---------------------
Maddy speaks pretty clearly and correctly for the most part, but there are a few things she says, I just don't have the heart to correct her:
- Strawberry Nortcake
- Strawberry is still pronounced straw-beret (but not in Strawberry Nortcake. is that weird?)
- Library is still pronounced li-beret
- When we tell her we're going out to eat, the first thing she says is, "Are we going to Mexico?" (She means, are we going to a Mexican restaurant?)
- Red Robin is Red Robin Hood.
- Maddy just stopped calling a headband a band-aid. I loved that one.
-----------------------
She's got an imagination like I cannot believe. Mostly involving a princess, a mean mother and someone running / crying. But still. She is learning so much in preschool - she comes home with the funniest things to say. She loves Sunbeams - this last Sunday she came home and exclaimed that she had a boyfriend. I asked her where she even heard that word, and she said Kate. I asked her what Kate said about it and she said, "Kate said that her boyfriend is Clay and my boyfriend is Jack. *giggle giggle*" Oh dear. I told her to forget she even heard that word.
-------------------
And a fun conversation with Maddy a couple of months ago. I had it saved in my drafts, ready to post, but never pulled the trigger.
(This was while I was calling some people to check on their visiting teaching, and said the word 'partner')
Maddy: What's a partner?
Me: Well, when we go visiting teaching, we take someone with us, and we call them a partner
Maddy: Like, when you ride on a horse, on their back, and walk around? That kind of partner?
Me: ... ... ... ... ... ... Oh! Like, 'Howdy, partner!'
Maddy: Yeah!!! ... ... ... I have a cowgirl hat. But it's too small...
