24 / 25

Christmas Eve festivities took place at Kirsten's house this year. We had our lovely On The Border feast, the kids got to go crazy with their gifts from family and Kirsten had a couple different activities for us.

Christmas morning we had a plan to wake up with the chickens (Maddy, our early riser) and then open some gifts, and then get breakfast ready in time for my mom to come over.  Welllllll, apparently, we weren't all on the same page.  Mike got up with Maddy and got her situated with a movie (in the living room!  By all the presents!  And she didn't even look at them... smh), and then went back to bed.  So I woke up to Buck barking and my mom getting there around 9 AM. Oops.  Of course Hudson slept in, so we eventually woke him up around 930 AM and got to the task at hand.

Letter from Santa & the remnants of his goodies.  Santa must have been very full from his Christmas Eve dinner to not finish the Oreo balls!

We had a delicious breakfast thanks to Karen & her culinary skills and then Mike and I had to race around the house to get things together to head up to my brother's.  After chopping and slicing and mixing, all I wanted to do was take a nap.  And then it started snowing.

My brother lives out in the country, so I was kinda nervous about driving on (what was supposed to be) ice by the time we would leave that night. After Hud woke up from a nap, we headed out.  The roads weren't too bad but when we pulled in my brother's driveway, it was full on SNOWING.  And that's no big deal, right?  Except we don't get that too much so it's always a shock to me.  Very pretty though.  And COLD.

We had a great feast and a great gift exchange and good times with my amazing family.
