It had been awhile since Mike & I went to the stock show, so one night we loaded the kids up and headed out. I knew it was going to be chilly, but I didn't realize just how chilly. The kids were champs of course, I was the one that was belly achin' about it. It was a good time, but holy moly, EXPENSIVE!!! I saw the ferris wheel and immediately wanted to get on, so I dragged everyone with me. It started going SO FAST and I just had to sit there and pretend I was okay with it. Maddy was kinda nervous about it and I had to fake a smile. It was horrible. I kept looking at Mike like, "We're gonna diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie!!!" Ugh.

After that Maddy really wanted to go on the big slide. I wondered how we'd ever get her up there and Mike thought she'd be fine going alone (ummm, no) so I went up with her. I have to admit, the older I get, the bigger of a wuss I get, and I was a HUGE wuss to begin with. The slide wasn't scary or anything, but dang we sure got going pretty fast. I guess I'm destined to be one of those really lame moms that holds coats while the kids ride things. :(

The kids then each got to go on a ride of their choice and then they rode the swings. I was super hesitant to let them go on the swings, but I channeled my inner Cool Mom and they loved it. *shudder* We walked around and looked at some cattle and horses and just about that time everything was kind of winding down, so we headed over to Chick-fil-A and got the kids some food. They were exhausted by the time we got home and went right to bed, which was a nice reward for us.

Uhhhh, I think I would have been a big wuss on that slide, too! I don't do roller coasters or spinny rides as well as I used to, either. The joys of aging. And sucking it up for our kids.
Fun times! I will gladly be the one to hold coats, lame or not...haha!
Carnival-type rides scare me. I like amusement park stuff, but I like to know my rides are very secure. I got wimpier when I had kids.
