It's no secret we're baseball fans around here, and we've been extremely lucky to have already gone to THREE games this season, two of them with our kids.
The first game was on May 1st. We scored some pretty sweet seats through the APIL auction at SMU. I seriously think Mike will keep going back to that just so we can get good tickets, ha.
It went really well walking up to the stadium, which can be quite a hike. They couldn't wait to see Ian Kinsler, and if I'm remembering correctly, Maddy kept saying she was going to marry him one day. ;) We made it to our seats with no problem, and then after sitting for awhile, it was snack time. Mike left to get some treats and Baker hit a home run. Which meant there were fireworks. Which meant it scared the crap out of Hudson. Poor buddy! He was so nervous the rest of the game and kept asking, "Are there going to be fireworks??" while holding his hands over his ears.
Other than that, we had a lot of fun. They were getting kinda fidgety by the end, but we had such good seats, there's no way I was leaving really early. They ended up losing to the White Sox 5-2, but still a good game.
A few weeks later Mike told me that some guy at work with season tickets was going to be out of town and had pretty good seats for a day game. Who better to have with us that Stacie & Mike? The weather was surprisingly bareable, although sitting in direct sunlight for 3 hours will give anyone a sunburn. (Ouch.)
Nothing says Rangers baseball like a boomstick!
And the Rangers beat the A's 3-1 - fantastic game!!
And last of all, Mike E got a bunch of extra tickets through work so they returned the favor and invited us (and the kids!) to go to see the Rangers take on the A's one more time, and this time, an all-you-can-eat buffet was included. The kids went nuts seeing their friends and didn't cause too much ruckus, and the seats were great! Even though the Rangers were losing, we stayed til the bitter end and left with the rest of the dejected fans.
Next on the list - the Yankees come to Arlington next week!! And guess who has tickets? :D
