On the 4th, half of our family ran a 5K, so while Mike took the kids to participate in that, I hung out at home with Brandt. He didn't sleep very well the night before, so it was nice to just lay low. It was kind of a weird realization that it was exactly one year ago I blogged about how we were expecting. (Also, last year at Spence & Heather's, I just kinda told a few people while we were there. I'd looked for a cute shirt for Hudson to wear over, but didn't find anything I liked, so it was pretty anticlimactic. But it was funny because this year when we showed up, one of their friends said, "You have ANOTHER baby?" Haha.)
Love this sweet baby!!
We met up over at Mike's parents' house and discussed the race, apparently even Maddy had participated in the 1K. What a little champ. :) She would have jumped off a building if her cousins had asked her to, I'm sure.
After awhile, we headed up to Spence's house. It was an interesting dynamic, I think that the party was more Mormon than they bargained for. ;) But it was fun.
Brandt had a pretty good time. He's the star of the show! Luckily I don't mind sharing!
This year, the fire pit was done so we were able to roast marshmallows and make S'mores. Watching these folks inhale these things, especially with the gigantic marshmallows, was h-i-l-a-r-i-o-u-s.
But of course my favorite person to watch was Huddy.
We ended the night with fireworks on their driveway (no one was injured this year) - it was a great holiday!
